Is the Bible a record of history, a book of philosophy, or something else entirely? Alistair Begg reminds us that because the Bible is the Word of God, it speaks with authority and works actively in the lives of hearers. When the people of God gather expectantly, listen attentively, and respond with reverence for God, the preaching of His Word will accomplish His work with power.
12For wthe word of God is living and xactive, ysharper than any ztwo-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and adiscerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13And bno creature is hidden from his sight, but all are cnaked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
