The Bible is the Christian’s definitive how-to guide for life—but only if time is taken to study and apply it rightly. The book of Jeremiah tells us that rather than boasting of our wisdom, strength, or riches, we ought to boast that we know God. When life’s fundamental questions arise, Alistair Begg teaches, the answers to our dilemmas cannot be found through human speculation. Instead, we must seek to know Christ through biblical revelation and, ultimately, to follow Him.
23Thus says the Lord: y“Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24but zlet him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. aFor in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”
