The Message of the Cross

 (ID: 2531)

It’s impossible for men and women to exalt themselves and God simultaneously, as Paul well understood. Because of this, the apostle resolved to preach the cross without rhetorical games or flourishes. As Alistair Begg explains, the cross is fundamental, as it illustrates what it took for Jesus to save us. Its message may not be trendy, nor does it depend on the skill of preachers—but everything hinges on it. The path of the cross is the only path to true redemption and grace.

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

18For the word of the cross is bfolly to cthose who are perishing, but to us dwho are being saved it is ethe power of God.
