The Great Exchange

 (ID: 0121)

What exactly did Jesus’ death accomplish for sinners? To answer this question, Alistair Begg considers the biblical teaching that God always planned to crush His Son to redeem any rebel sinner who believes. Jesus did not offer Himself as a reckless example of love. Instead, in full partnership with the Father, He actively sacrificed Himself to perform the great exchange of His righteousness for our sin. This opened the only way for us to repent and receive God’s forgiveness.

21qFor our sake he made him to be sin rwho knew no sin, so that in him we might become sthe righteousness of God.
