Our culture frequently portrays Jesus as a wise teacher and good man, but certainly not divine. The religious leaders of His day, however, attempted to trick, entrap, and ultimately kill Jesus precisely because they knew His divinity posed a threat. In this message, Alistair Begg exhorts us to honor and submit to Christ’s rule as Lord of all creation, letting our obedience to earthly kingdoms flow naturally from a love of God above all.
20So they watched him and sent spies, who pretended to be sincere, that they might catch him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the authority and jurisdiction of the governor.
