Pastors are rightly focused on preaching God’s Word and leading their congregations as local bodies. Although it may seem that counseling requires a different skill set or would take time away from public ministry, helping people to apply biblical truths to life’s real challenges is also important. It is through relationships that individuals grow in godliness, building up the church and God’s kingdom as a whole. In this session, Jonathan Holmes encourages pastors to be involved in counseling and gives practical suggestions on developing and sustaining a Scripture-based counseling ministry at their churches.
