God’s Word, Our Cornerstone

 (ID: 1653)

On the occasion of Parkside Church’s building dedication, Alistair Begg explains the reasons for choosing Psalm 138:2 as the cornerstone inscription. This verse establishes that the Word of God, written in Scripture and incarnate through Jesus Christ, is the church’s foundation, focus, and future. A change of address in no way signifies a change in what a church is and what a church ought to do.

2I bow down dtoward your eholy temple

and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness,

for you have exalted above all things

your name and your word.1
