The Colossian believers were filled to overflowing with thanksgiving and joy when they understood God’s forgiveness and began to live in His grace. Alistair Begg describes how natural gratitude is concerned with the tangible things in life, but gracious gratitude starts with God Himself. The life of the Christian believer should be characterized by gratitude that does not depend on circumstance, recognizing that God rules and reigns over all things and has made His children the objects of His fatherly care.
