Of all the names by which the Son of God’s birth might have been announced, the name Jesus was chosen. Why? Its meaning provides the answer: Jesus means “the Lord saves.” When Jesus’ name was announced, so was His mission to save the people from their sins. As Alistair Begg explains in this Christmas sermon, the question now is a personal one: What does the name of Jesus mean to you?
