The sin of murder, addressed in the sixth commandment, is not one to be merely glossed over by moral rule-followers. We know that human life is sacred because people are created in the image of God. As Alistair Begg reminds us, however, we violate this commandment in our hearts with a simple harsh word. How quickly we forget that “do not murder” extends beyond homicide to our own murderous minds, which can kill with just a glance.
