Keynote for the Year — Part One

We are often tempted to overestimate our own abilities and underestimate the Spirit of the Lord. Those who preceded us in faith, however, did not benefit the kingdom of God through self-sufficiency. Alistair Begg turns to the prophet Zechariah to share a word of encouragement for times of external opposition and internal discouragement. This passage reminds us that earthly means cannot sustain us. It is only the Lord who is sufficient to carry us through any circumstance.


6Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to lZerubbabel: mNot by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
