Justification

 (ID: 2580)

The New Testament writers described salvation using a variety of complementary concepts: justification, redemption, propitiation, and reconciliation. In this message, Alistair Begg walks us through Romans 5, where all of these ideas come together. Our salvation is pure grace and completely accomplished in Christ—yet we must receive it by faith. God the Father initiates the punishment for our sins, and God the Son takes it in our place. We cannot boast, for this work is all God’s doing!

18Therefore, as one trespass6 led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness7 leads to justification and life for fall men.
