Ultimately, when it comes to generosity, the question is not what we give but to whom we are giving. Do we give to gain man’s glory? Or is our aim to please God? Our resources, Alistair Begg explains, are really the Creator’s; we are simply their stewards. He is our Redeemer and Provider who saves and blesses us immeasurably. Therefore, the degree of our giving should be determined by the degree to which we have responded to God’s generosity toward us.
