Jesus said that everyone must choose between the wide and narrow gates. As Alistair Begg explains, those who say they have no need of a Savior choose the wide gate, trying to find God without the cross of Christ or self-denial. For those who know they cannot find relief from sin and guilt on their own, however, Jesus offers comfort: He is the narrow gate, and anyone who enters through Him will be saved.

13g“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy1 that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14For the gate is narrow and hthe way is hard that leads to life, and ithose who find it are few.
