“What is the pathway to spiritual fullness?” The church in Colossae was asking that question—but the people were being harmed by the false answers they were being given. Paul therefore warned the Colossians to beware of and avoid false teachers if they valued their spiritual freedom. As Alistair Begg reminds us, spiritual fullness is found only in the Christ who is fully God.
8See to it that no one takes you captive by nphilosophy and oempty deceit, according to phuman tradition, according to the qelemental spirits1 of the world, and not according to Christ. 9For rin him the whole fullness of deity dwells sbodily, 10and tyou have been filled in him, who is uthe head of all rule and authority.
