When Jesus went to the cross to pay for our sin, He was not driven by a sense of duty or obligation. Far from it! He willingly gave His life out of a deep and abiding love for us. Alistair Begg tells us that when we accept God’s gift and become Christ followers, His Holy Spirit indwells us and conforms us more and more into His image. As Christians, our lives should reflect Christ in our devotion and eagerness to do what is good, not out of duty or fear but out of our love for Him.
