When life’s troubles recede, we can either be lured into indolent complacency or use the opportunity for development and strengthening. Teaching from Acts 9, Alistair Begg shows how the early church used a time of peace to strengthen and encourage new Christians. As they grew in a sense of God’s presence, experiencing the direction of the Spirit, the number of believers multiplied. Our own deepening reverence and knowledge of the Lord should similarly overflow into a broadening of His kingdom.
