Apart from Jesus, our divine diagnosis is grim: we are utterly and totally dead in our sins. Amazingly, though, Jesus calls us forth from the grave, just like Lazarus. As Alistair Begg explains, this is all possible due to His great love for us. God shows us mercy, sparing us what we deserve. He also shows us grace, the evidence of which is our ability to respond in faith and action as members of God’s diverse, united people.
