God Is with Us

 (ID: 1838)

Some say that loneliness is the one inevitable fact of human life. As Alistair Begg reminds us, even Jesus understood the isolation we feel when He cried out in desolation to His heavenly Father at the cross. Matthew 1:23, however, shows us that Jesus is also Emmanuel, which means “God with us.” When we feel alone, we can reach toward the person of Christ, who sympathizes with our loneliness and can fill it completely.

23d“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,

and they shall call his name eImmanuel”

(which means, God fwith us).
