Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is a reminder of what Jesus has done for us. By living the life we should have lived and taking the punishment we should have taken, Jesus has spared us the penalty of our sin, allowing us to be declared justified before the Father. As Alistair Begg makes clear, we could never earn this gift; it could only be given by Jesus as an act of grace. The only suitable response from us is a life of gratitude.
