Baptism: A Matter of Obedience

 (ID: 1854)

In this sermon on the occasion of a baptism, Alistair Begg answers two important questions: What is baptism, and why do we practice it? As believers who have put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we should eagerly express our love for Him through obedience. Baptism was commanded by Christ Himself and faithfully practiced by the early church. Through it, we confess our faith in Him, act out the beautiful story of Christ’s death and resurrection, and proclaim our allegiance to Him.

23Jesus answered him, w“If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and xwe will come to him and ymake our home with him. 24Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And zthe word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.
