What is God like, and how might we come to know Him? Sometimes we may confuse knowledge about God with actually knowing Him personally. Alistair Begg warns against this, explaining the importance of understanding God’s character, truth, ways, and purposes as He has revealed Himself in the Scriptures. Knowing God personally in a saving way will transform our lives, humble us, and make Jesus the most precious of our possessions.
23Thus says the Lord: y“Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24but zlet him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. aFor in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”
