The apostle John’s first letter to the Christians of the ancient world tackles issues of false teaching, sin, and obedience in the light of the truth of God’s incarnation and atoning work in Jesus Christ. It offers a message of warning balanced with a promise of hope in the Gospel.

In volume one of this series, Alistair Begg introduces the first epistle of John and proclaims the good news of the Lord to which John testified. He reminds us that as we face the temptations of false teaching in our day, we need to be ready to test everything against the Scriptures and to examine ourselves. As we see the fruit of salvation in our lives expressed in the rejection of sin and love for Christ and His people, we can experience assurance of our standing before Him.
