Preaching Christ and Him Crucified

When Paul wrote to the Corinthians, he recognized that Christ crucified would be “a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.” The cross, Alistair Begg reminds us, shows unbelievers the gravity of their sin, even as it admonishes believers to cling to the love of Christ that they may be restrained from disobedience. It is beneath the cross of Christ alone that believers must commit to taking their stand.
