Paul’s approach to sharing the Gospel in Corinth did not make good sense from a business perspective. The gentiles wanted flowery rhetoric, and the Jews wanted amazing miracles. Paul gave them neither, as Alistair Begg explains, because God delights to work through weakness. Jesus and His ministry was Paul’s singular focus. Therefore, he gave the Corinthians the central, clear, and crucial message of Christ Jesus and the cross—the same task we have in the world today.
