The Jews relied on a high priest to offer sacrifices for their sins. After Jesus’ death and resurrection, however, many of his followers worried that no one could offer these sacrifices. Writing to a primarily Jewish audience, the author of Hebrews described Jesus as the great High Priest who can sympathize with all people. Alistair Begg shows how Jesus’ deity and humanity allow His followers—both Jews and Gentiles—to boldly approach Him and find mercy and grace.
