Dealing with Sin, Part One
The devil tempts us to sin with the desire of power, the lusting of the eyes, and the boasting of what we have (power, passion and possessions) on a daily basis. So how does a Christian who is involved in a continual battle with the world, flesh and the devil deal with sin? Our unity with Christ allows us to look back to Calvary and look forward to heaven. Our relationship, not religion, unites us with our Savior and provides a new identity which gives us the incentive to deal with sin out of an act of love and thankfulness, rather than an act to gain favor or credit. As a Christian, sin may remain, but it no longer reigns as our union in Christ provides a new identity and a new life.
