The angel who visited the shepherds to announce Jesus’ birth interrupted their familiar routine with glorious news and a life-changing encounter. When confronted by the divine, we also must choose to listen and investigate the identity of Jesus. As Alistair Begg reminds us, our conclusion about Jesus is of eternal consequence, leaving no room for moderate respect. Like the shepherds, we should meet God’s Son and respond with worship, as well as concern for others to meet Him, too.
