Romans 1:16–17  (ID: 2880)

“What is the Gospel?” This question is essential for both believers and nonbelievers to consider. The Gospel is not a concept invented by man, nor is it about what we can do to put ourselves in God’s good graces. Instead, Alistair Begg answers what the Gospel is by examining the source, substance, scope, and significance of what has been achieved on the cross, revealed in the Bible, and bestowed to those who believe it.

The Righteous Shall Live by Faith

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,5 as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”6
