Many passages of the Bible extol God’s character—and it can be tempting to rush through these sections in search of more practical teaching. Alistair Begg suggests, however, that taking time to consider God’s attributes is how we maintain a proper perspective of Him and ourselves. Careful consideration of how powerful, perfect, and praiseworthy God is will change our thinking, our actions, and our experience of security.
14to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15which he will display at the proper time—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see.
