A church built around a super-gifted, charismatic leader is not a sustainable model. A better alternative would be to build a culture of leadership development, where leaders are identified, cultivated, and released to do ministry, all for the building of the church. Dan Larison and Dan Schillero, both pastors at Parkside, walk through what this process looks like in their context and encourage all church leaders to invest in the hard yet necessary work of discipling and mentoring prospective leaders in the church.
