Comfort and Joy

The word of comfort in Isaiah 40 came to an Israelite people beset by bondage, hardship, and insecurity. Today, we face the same sorts of troubles. All people need comfort and joy, and while we may look for them in “creature comforts,” Alistair Begg warns us that we will not find relief there. Only in God’s presence do we find real comfort and joy that have true staying power.
