Knowing that the end of his life and ministry were near, the apostle Paul wrote the last of his Pastoral Epistles to Timothy. In it, Paul reminded the younger pastor of the necessity of passing the Gospel of Jesus Christ on to future generations of believers, even amid growing hostility toward it. His words remind us that faithful ministry and biblical preaching are indispensable in every age.

In volume one of this series, Alistair Begg considers the apostle’s plea to the next generation to guard the Gospel’s truth. Although the pressures of the world around us will always push believers away from the truth, we must hold tightly to it. We do so not in our own strength; rather, out of the abundance of His grace, God provides all that is needed for His church to carry on. As we continue to proclaim the truth, we can trust that the Lord will preserve His Word until He returns.
