Walking as God’s Children

Today, we live in a culture that seems increasingly fragmented, alienated, broken up, and brokenhearted. In that context, Ephesians 5 speaks its message with a compelling urgency. From its opening sentence, it issues a striking exhortation: “Be imitators of God, as beloved children.” Adopted into God’s family and filled with the Holy Spirit, Christians are to bear our heavenly Father’s likeness—especially in His self-giving love, His transforming light, and His holy wisdom. In this series, Alistair Begg examines Ephesians 5, helping us to understand better the biblical call to holiness and purity amid a spiritually dark and dreary world. God’s grace, he reminds us, doesn’t end with our forgiveness; it continues to fill us, enabling us to walk in the very footsteps of the Lord Jesus Himself and to make the invisible God seen through our words and deeds.
